What's your favorite side to go along with all types of BBQ. Personally I'd say a nice cold Beer. I know some people love their sides almost as much or more then the BBQ.

Homemade french fries are always a hit at my house.......We are kinda burned out from potato salad, macaroni salad and coleslaw....Basically all the usual side dishes.....jazzed up beans are one thing we never get sick of though.

Brussels sprouts fried in bacon fat. Even lifelong vegetable haters gobble them up like popcorn.

Second on the sprouts. My wife adds fine chopped garlic with crumbled bacon in with them. She's converted many also. I've been working on a side thats like a hash using chopped ribs tips in it, work in progress. Now summer's here can't pass up a fresh cucumber/vidalla salad.

I remember having Baked Taters , Beans ,Tomato Relish and Hot Sauce ( homemade) .

Sometimes we would have Cornbread and when fresh , and grilled Bacon Wrapped Asparagus .

I like Brussels like that too , and I like the idea of Garlic and Bacon .

Have fun and  .  .  .

I like grilled corn on the cob Mexican street vendor styles. You grill it in husks after soaking them in salt water. Then you toss them in a mix of 50:50 butter and mayo with chopped up dried ancho chilis, cilantro, salt, pepper, and lime juice and sprinkle smoked paprika on them for presentation. They are amazing. I need to post the recipe.

We are a Cole Slaw and Corn or Beans family too. I like the cold Beer but the girls like my Sangria...JJ

Smokin' Great SANGRIA!

In a Pitcher large enough to hold a Gallon plus Fruit, combine...

1C Brandy or more...cheapo E&J, Christian Bros.

1C Triple Sec...orange liqueur.

2C Apple Juice or Cider

2C Orange Juice...Fresh or Simply Orange

1-2 Sliced Oranges...Lemons and Limes, Optional.

1-2 Diced Apples

2 1/2Qt Red Wine...Riunite Lambrusco is my fav.

*NOTE*  You will use most of the 3 Liter Bottle. Or if you have room, dump it all!

Additionally, if you choose a really Dry Red Wine, you may need to add a bit of Sugar. The Lambrusco is on the sweet side so no additional sugar is needed.

Mix well and CHILL WELL...I stick it in the Freezer for an hour or more.

"CAUTION"  This goes down smooth and will kick your BUTT!

 DRINK RESPONSIBLY....Please!?!

Enjoy...JJ

Makers 46 if we're gonna keep taking alcohol. If we're gonna keep on the subject and talk food ABTs are hard to beat. And it's almost impossible to beat a solid baked bean dish. Potato salad and slaw are good but just don't compare.
