Since being here you all know I do alot of hunting and only get tag soup, Well got tired of tag soup and the prices at the stores here for their beef. My cousin is vice pres at the local sales yard and he called me wanting to know if I wanted a beef? I said sure deal wasn't bad but wasn't the best either. he said this was grain fed for the last couple of months and would beat Safeways or any larger chain supermarkets beef. So she weighed 1150lbs on the hoof after slaughter house got done hanging weight was 650lbs Not bad.,

Haven't got to try the steaks yet but did the burger last night after getting it all home and it was good. Now watch I will go hunting this yr and will have to buy another freezer LOL

Watch the snack sticks begin soon, will try to load up on some pork butts now when the go on sale.

A full Freezer is going to make a full smoker and everyone will be full and happy

Sounds awesome DS, we get a half of beef at least once a year & enjoy it, much better than the store bought stuff ! Though I got a deer last year, I am familiar with the taste of tag soup... Lol. Hoping for both deer & elk this year... May even put in on an extra Whitey tag down on the river bottoms for the muzzleloader....

Either way, nice to have a full freezer & maybe in a few months, two full freezers ! Thumbs Up

Thanks WBH yup my buddy just bought a logging truck and so sounds like archery and muzzleloader are out this yr we will be doing rifle.

Man you will love that beef.

We sell freezer beef and have more customers than I have beef

Two of the guys at work buy a calf every year and cull it for meat when it's grown.  I need to get in on that pool one of these days too!

you should try bear carvers dried beef it is awesome, and not very difficult following his direction which are really hard not to grasp even for this old ridge runner. I know I have been looking for a deal like you got since the first time I made it.

Thanks, Meatstalker, I will give it a try,,,,, I do the unstuffed meat logs like bear carvers, have for years before I got here I  just do a different flavor. We did these Beef logs since I was I kid.

A full smoker is a happy smoker

It looks like I might need to consider this for my house. I only got 1 deer this year and we eat enough red meat to go through 3 deer in a year. It is a long way until deer season and I am almost out of venison.
