Tell me more about AMNPS. I see everyone talking about this.

The AMNPS changed the way I smoke for the better and easier. Reloading wood chips every 20-30 minutes in my MES 30 was a hassle. With the AMNPS I get it smoking, insert it into the smoker at the start of cooking and it provides constant smoke for at least 11 hours (typically).

The A-MAZE-N company owner, Todd Johnson, is one of the best guys you'll ever to business with. Super guy and all his products are great and at very fair prices.

I just looked at Todd's site. He says the AMNPS is used for "supplementing" smoke. For me, it is the only source of smoke I use and it works incredibly well.

What is an AMNPS and why/how should I get one for my Masterbuilt 30" Analog Smoker?
You might need to add a couple of air holes in your Analog MES.

The Analog doesn't seem to have enough air flow for an AMNPS to smoke Properly.

Others have had that problem, and can tell you what they did to correct it.

I think Todd can tell you how it's done too.

I've been using nothing but my Amazing smokers since Todd invented them---Nearly 6 years ago.

I think Todd must've recently changed the description because I never noticed it before either, and I bought my AMNPS 2-3 years ago.
Yeah, he knows many of us Watt-Burners use it 100% of the time, but there are guys with pellet burners & wood burners that use the Amazings to supplement & add Great Tasting Smoke.

I will defer to Todd, but I don't think it will work with and analog without punching holes in the smoker. The analogs I have used, although not a Masterbuilt have no vents, its a closed system. Don't remember seeing one that had vents though.

If I am wrong let me know so I don't sound like an idiot again.

If you're an idiot, then that's 2 of us, because like I said above it seems all Analogs have that problem, and need holes drilled here & there, especially the Masterbuilt Analog.

It makes fine smoke as is, its just you have to learn how to use it. I can smoke a chicken in one of my analogs as good or better than I do in a vented MES. It is just a different process. Its really set and forget. Put everything together, set it on high for 30 mins (oe whatever that paticular box uses), then crank it back to the suggested cooking temp, then allowing for all the modifiers, wait till its done. Hell I never had a thermometer back then either.

Its just a different sorta creature.
