I just picked up my uncles old homebuild yesterday and im going to bring it back to life. Its in decent shape except the bottom is a bit rusted out in spots. I was thinking of making it a multi-use smoker, as it sits its a vertical with the firebox on the bottom. My plan is to fix the bottom obviously then remove the burner and gas lines and knob from a grill i have been hoarding. This is all just a guess but i think itll work well and help hold temps on long smokes. Itll get the grill up over 400 so with the smoker i think temps around 250 and under will be just about perfect. Anybody tried this before and know if it will work? Thanks.
