Anyone have any hints on keywords for searching for cast iron cookware? I live basically on the edge of Amish country in the middle of nowhere PA and my search for a big (5 gallon +) chili/gumbo pot resulted in about 500 cast iron kettles (I already have 3 of them) and one pot that looks like it might be big enough with no contact info. Any help appreciated!

Cool, thanks man! It's weird I was just looking at that 2nd link and it was $152. I clicked your link and the price dropped? You must know some people. ..lol

Haha, hey... I do what I can... Lol... Hope it saved ya a few bucks !

Curious as to what you plan to cook in this giant.  Full, that would be 75+ ample servings of chili.  Plan to serve out of or transfer to smaller containers for safety sake.  Do you have a tripod to hang this on, or will you be banking coals around the perimeter?

Not sure yet what we'll be cooking but I always find myself saying, "I should have gotten the bigger one" whenever I buy tools or kitchen ware.

I'll figure something out. We always have a few big bashes throughout the year so I'm sure I can use it.

I have a tripod that should hold it. If not, I have a set up I used to pull engines out of cars that will work well.

I cook chili and unless you have a specific outdoor application, I would steer away from legged pots. Its fine if you normally cook on the ground but I have cook a couple a pots of chili or jambalaya or stew and with very few exceptions the legs are a royal pain to get on a burner or stand.

Look at a # 14 or #16 or even a #20, now thats a bunch o chili, enough for a troop of hungry Scouts

I have a set of legged pots, I have used each of them but they are not my norm. Another suggestion I would make, if you are looking at a say 30gal. pot, look at 2 each 16's instead. easier to handle, clean, move, just basically better to cook on.

Just some thoughts.
