Im looking to purchase a dual thermometer to monitor the ambient temp as well as the meat temp without opening the door.  I have an oven thermometer but I feel that I can't get an accurate comparison with the door thermometer due to the opening and closing of the door.  I have read a few threads about them but I'm looking for brand/type recommendations. I read that Maverick is a common brand but there are many models to chose from when I look them up.  Many have average ratings and some high.  What do you have and what do you suggest? Thanks!

Maveick et 732 here. works like a charm. I guess the 733 is a little better but I don't have one, yet. I have used mavericks since they first came out and they are the best for the money no doubt about it. I think you will find that most of us have mavericks.

try the search bar at the top of the page and type in Maverick thread.http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/161573/maverick-et-733-thread

I sure wish they had an app for windows phone. I would love to have functionality from my pc and phone. Oh well, probably never going to happen.

I came across the grill2 today and it looked pretty damn appealing.  It can take up to 4 probes?  Am I reading that right?
