Need help for buying a new smoker - Need to act fast

So I'm working on my x-mas list and I want a new smoker.  I have a master forge vertical that the wife got me at Lowe's for like $50 bucks.  That was 2 years ago and I've done great with it.  Ribs, turkeys, chickens, chicken parts, scallops, pork butts..crushed them all.  I'm ready to go to the next step.  Best outcome for me is to ask for gift cards and put them all together and get a smoker.  So what should I get and where?  I want charcoal and something that is easier to control the temp on.  I also want something where I won't have to change the charcoal during a smoke and a lot of room for various meats or multiple of the same kind during a smoke.

I need this info as soon as possible, as I need to turn my list in pronto.  Thanks all.

Look no further than a WSM.  Get the 18.5" or the 22.5".  Easy to use.  Plenty of volume.  Can smoke wet or dry.  Temps are easy to control and stay set for long periods.  I've gone 17 hours without refueling and could have gone longer.  Ready to go right out of the box.  Door is the only weak part of the smoker but it is a minimal distraction.  A little high temp gasket seal fixes that issue in minutes.

Your price range would help to know. Since I don't know that I will throw out my 2 choices. The WSM as mentioned above or a BGE or a knock off.

I have to agree with the above post's. I have a 18.5 WSM and love it! Once you figure them out its almost set it and forget it. The 22.5 is on my wish list but I've always managed to make the 18.5 work. I smoked 37lbs of pork butt in it this fall, it took 24hrs and I only had to add a few handfuls of KBB to finish. I went thru the same thing , had a ecb (4weeks) and wanted to upgrade. Ended up with an Akorn Kamado . Wanted to start grilling etc. this unit gives me some choices. The other option was a WSM. The Akorn was on sale first.

Thank you all.  I'm going WSM 22.5".  Took your thoughts and read a lot more on it.  Looks like the best step and somewhere I can stay at for a long time.  Excited to get this going.

Next question...If I decide to go with the after market lid hinge, anybody have a good cover they recommend?

I am not 100% sure this deal is still going, BUT it might be - Amazon currently I think has an offer for $50.00 select Grills, INCLUDING the Weber Smokey Mountain 22.5.

Long story - I saw this deal about a week ago on Slickdeals.com but when you follow the link it states it is for a limited time, and when you actually click on the weber SM 22.5 page it does not mention the deal.

SO....  I actually contacted Amazon via a chat on Tuesday/Wednesday range and asked them if the deal was still valid and they said it was.

My advise -

1) Contact Amazon, see if deal is still active

2) If so, order from Amazon.  No tax, free shipping.  Order now if you can, not sure if you have the gift cards etc yet.

3) even if the $50 credit is over, I would still get from amazon due to the #1 point above
