Tri-tip that is.

Fired up the mini.

Seasoned.

On the mini at 250 with pecan.

Ready for a sear.

Sear mode on the mini. Flames doesn't show up good at night.

Off and resting in foil.

Sliced and plated

And what's left for another meal.

For only being my second tip, it was very juicy and tender.
Don't know if it can get better.

Thanks for looking.

Those of you who can't find Tri-tip, look at Costco if you have one nearby. All the ones I've went to here in Washington state always have them. They are pricey in a two pack, about $8 lb. in a bloody bag they are a little over $5lb but the bags are about 18-20lbs

Getting ready to do about 10 racks of baby backs next week for a Christmas get together. Gunna be good!

Only place I could find them was at Wal Mart.

I dont know, just happy I could get it. Grade doesnt mean much to me. Just cook what you can get.

Guess I'm probably more picky than most. My thoughts are if you're going to spend the time, use high quality meat. Costco meat is graded choice. I've bought some that we're cost less from Cash & Carry that was graded select but were unpeeled. After peeling, the cost per lb was equivalent to the better quality from Costco. And I don't have the extra time of peeling the ones from Costco.
