Hello all! I'm Mike, living in North Carolina now but i'm from Canada originally. I've been smoking on and off for about a year, just took a class down in Houston back in March, then found a company here to make me a nice offset smoker for the backyard. I'm glad i came across this site, it has been very useful learning new ideas and improving old ones I had. I own and work at a cigar bar here, so lately all my smoking results have been taken down there for people to sample and they've been very happy with what i've copied from the rest of you. Looking forward to learning more and hopefully posting some great new things too.

Mike,
Welcome, from a southern Ohio Wolf, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it. Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with there opinion on the subject.
Good looking smoker you have there!! Looks well built!
Always remember the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask!!
Keep Smokin!!!

Welcome to the board, Mike! That is a sweet looking rig. But something's missing from that flat-topped firebox ... maybe a skillet of eggs and a coffee pot ...

This was while it was still firing up, there's a lot of meat missing from the inside of the smoker too. Need to grab a few cast irons to do some eggs, reduce some sauces and whip up some sides on that firebox.
