Got a few questions after reading more posts and my head is spinning because I am over my head with all the information. What do you guys do with a smoker full of meat? Do you eat it all at once or do you freeze it? Do you smoke when you have a crowd over for dinner? We are close to being empty nesters. Is the cost of smoking 1 roast or a rack of ribs really worth it energy wise?
I thought the electric smoker my husband purchased was a brand new product. After reading posts and complaints on the internet, I see this particular model has been around for at least a year and people have contacted the manufacturer about problems incurred after only a few uses. Why keep something that is not living up to the company's claims? The more I read about this product, the less enchanted I become with this company.
A comment was made that one gets what one pays for. The MES Generation II retails around $400+ so do other reliable smokers usually cost more? It seems to me that die hard smokers would gladly pay more, but what about those who may smoke about 1x a month? I foresee this item sitting in the garage more often than actually being used. Warranty is only for 90 days. Hmmm.
I noticed that this forum has a member from
Masterbuilt. I have not seen any responses from him regarding the complaints about his company's products.
