We are still a few weeks out from getting our garden in the ground. Lows this week are high 20's- low 30's. Got our main planting bed ready. New compost, new dog fencing.

This year we also are hooping the garden so we can roll out plastic at night.

Hoops are electrical conduit. Holds up better than irrigation PVC in the sunlight. Simple connections. At the top drilled holes in the 2x4 for slip fit. Compression holds the pipe in the hole. Plastic pipe straps at the fence line to keep them from shifting side to side. Plastic gets attached to the 2x at the top. At the bottom Duct taped to electrical conduit. Conduit holds it down and gives you something rigid to roll it back up. I'll photo that when I put the plastic on in a week or so. Black plastic will cover the fence.

I think we hit the stopping point! The forecasted low for the next two nights is in the 20's. Supposed to be 89 on Friday. Welcome to gardening in Central Oregon!! I picked everything that was close to ripe.

Still a hundred or so green maters. See how they do after the freeze.

Italian roaster peppers. These guys are good and hot!

Thais, jalapeño, mexi bell, orange bell pepper, Serrano.

We had a ton of lettuce, spinach, and raspberries. Enough beets to make 8 half pints of pickled beets. Tons of crook neck squash. One radish, two carrots. Quite a few cuc's that are still pickling on the counter. All in all a successful garden!

Your growing artichokes too? Very nice.

We try every year. Hopefully we can get these to winter in. Second and third year plants seem to produce better here. Really need to mulch them in but our leafs haven't fallen yet. This frost may get them.

That's crazy hearing you talk about frost, and I'm sweating my butt off in Florida. It's actually starting to cool off a bit though mid 80 in the day and mid 70's at night. Few more weeks will be perfect camping weather! Cant wait!!

My green beans and pumpkins did good. The maters, and cukes got blight and I couldnt stop it.

Looks like frost next week for us.

Oh yeah we have 6, well actually 8 (two are across the fence in the neighbors yard) pumpkins. We'll leave them on till the vines frost off then bring them in for Halloween.
