Hey guys,

Steve informed me that the #3 would be 42" tall on the stand.  per the site, the #3 is about 30" tall.  So the stand is only a foot tall?!

Does anyone have a picture of their #3 on the stand to share?

thank you.

Thanks, Dert.

Two questions...(a) do you feel it makes using the smoker easier?  (b) Was it worth the money to you, or in hindsight, would you have put the money toward a stand that sits higher?

Thanks.

How do you feel about the shelves? Are they pretty stable? I'm going back and forth on getting the cart, designing my own or waiting until they redesign it.

That's pretty much what it looked like. I'll either make something myself or wait for a redesign.

I think for the price to just raise it up a bit, I may do just that.  I think I saw someone on one of these forums had posted one like that that they got at a Sam's club.  I'll check the Sam's close to me and Harbor Freight to see what they have.

I do like that the SI cart is all stainless.  If the shelves were stronger, I'd go for it.  I like the idea of having the shelves to put sheet pans on to transfer briskets and butts and such in and out of the smoker.  It's not very helpful if it can't handle that kind of weight.  From the sound of it, as it is now, it can pretty much only handle the weight of an empty sheet pan.

I wouldn't say they can't handle the weight but they do it droop down with the full butt on them

It was me. After about 6 months, I really like this cart. Not stainless, but chrome plated and lives in my garage, rust free. The trick is to switch the middle shelf with the top shelf. The middle shelf has a lower rim that lets the door for my #1 open without hitting it. It's quite solid too, and for $59, i think a better value. I just unscrewed the wheels from the smoker, set the smoker on the cart, and then screwed the wheels back on right through the shelf grate. Wrks great and rock solid too.

Here's the link to my earlier cart thread with pics too:

Little late to the party here BUT I had this pic stashed to build one for myself when time permits. Still waiting on it...LOL.....However, I got motivated again so maybe this will help you out. Looks sturdy enough, on casters for easy moving and usually less to build your own, right? Sorry, no record of the original poster....HTH, Willie

I saw this one too.  There were event instructions on how to build it.  I am considering something like it also.  I think it would be even nicer if it had a pull out shelf in front of where the door opens so that you could place a pan there with your meat and to stop drippings on your patio or deck.
