Since it's a nice evening thought I would do a quick smoke.

Seen these on the web

Shroomballz!!

Take the middle out of the Mushrooms.

Spoon full of Cream Cheese, I choose Chilli

Take a piece of Cheese, I've done Mozzarella, and wrap it in Mince.

Place the balls on top of the mushrooms, I sprinkled the meat with a Seasoning Salt.

Wrap two slices of streaky bacon around the balls to make a X. Insert a Cocktail Stick in the bottom to hold bacon in place.

Put on grill to cook.

Also put some chicken wings on, with Jeff's Rub on.

Hell of an idea.....like all of it. Had to chuckle as soon as I saw the word 'mince', knowing immediately you were from across the pond. Regardless, great post & a must do for me...Willie

Thanks Chef Willie, what do you call "mince"?

Also towards the end of cooking, you can cover with your favourite BBQ Sauce, put back in grill for 10 minutes, to make it sticky.

Those look amazing!! Gonna try those for sure...does the bacon come out crispy? What temp you smoking at and for how long?

Hi knifebld, thanks for the comments.

Cooked at 150F for 1 Hour, then turn up to 250F our higher to crisp the Bacon. Just before the end of the cooking, you can coat in your favorite BBQ Sauce.

Their was a problem during the cooking. My GMG JB has had problems, and today it ran out of pellets again, with out the alarm going off, and then I could not get it to relight!!!

This was the first time I have made these, they tasted great. You can play with the flavour of the Cream Cheese etc, or leave the cheese out of the meat and put Chorizo or something similar inside, as you already have cheese in the bottom. I made these big, but you can use smaller mushrooms to make Golf Ball size, then they will be totally wrapped in bacon and can be served as snacks for Football Games.

Hi Petewoody, thanks for that.

It's hard when writing these threads, as you are always trying to think American, changing Centigrade to Fahrenheit etc.

Hi 5 O'clock,

I am amazed that you folks over there have not seen this before!

The Mushroom is the carriage for your imagination!!!!!!!

Hello SM,

I've seen mushrooms stuffed with sausage, crabmeat, and a few other things, and then put in the oven. Never thought to do what you did. The cheese and bacon must really kick it up a notch.

And we thank you for that.....metric never caught on over here. And thanks to the Aussie for explaining the mince/ground beef thing. My x-mother in law was from Scotland and she actually made a  dinner dish called 'mince'.....basically ground beef and mixed veggies cooked to death in beef water or broth or ??? like soup. She loved it, we smiled, slurped and made nice whenever she made it....Later

Looks good enough to make you want to . . .
