My maverick is on it's last leg. So now it is about time to replace it. I could go with another maverick which has done me well. Or I could go with a IGrill and be Wifi. But if I leave the house with the smoker Wifi is probably of no use. Is anybody making a remote that is both blue tooth and wifi? What are your thoughts? What are you using? Do you like it? I want the best of all worlds. I would say money is of no object. But for that price I could get someone to watch over the pit and correct anything that went wrong.

Happy smoken.

I have both the Mav 732 and the original iGrill. The iGrill is Bluetooth and I use it everywhere. Just took it camping last weekend. If I had the extra cash right now I'd go buy the iGrill two and the extra probes so I'd have four. iGrill just released the android app so those that don't have an iPhone can use it now.

Yea the android is where I am at. I hadn't looked much at the Igrill before. Now I am thinking out in the woods no cell signal. At home with wifi.

I had good luck with my maverick for a long time. Happy smoken.

Not sure how you're going to be using your therm, whether you use it to monitor pit temp or not, but if you are looking for a therm just to test food temp, the Thermapen is an awesome food thermometer. I can take the temp of thin items such as bb ribs, bay scallops, or the other extreme large items like pork butts, with such ease. I love my Thermapen. Good Luck with whatever you decide.

I have a instant read that I also use. I am a set it and walk away guy. I don't open the door unless I am turning or foiling or the likes. I want to monitor my pit as well as my food temp.

Happy smoken.

I've got my Maverics(2) and a Thermopen and assorted cheapos I can't seem to toss. I tend to packrat the things in hopes one may spring to life .

I really enjoy my Mavs. , as I too don't like to open my Smoker while cooking . I check my Pit Therms too and they are good ones and read my temps. well .

I got a lot of good use out of my maverick. It now looses the signal and I have to turn it off then back on.

I'm thinking maybe another Mavrick. Then I think IGrill. Maybe I just need both. Then I can do a side by side

Test.

Happy smoken.

I have the BlueTherm Duo from Thermapen. I really like it. It is BT so the range isn't great, but it will plot a log of the entire cook for both the mean and the pit temps. Very accurate and the probes are more durable than the Mavs. But it also costs more than the Mavs....

I will take a look at it. Thanks for posting.
