Adding handles to MES 30" digital

Yes really don't have much room to store it.  Garage is barely big enough for 2 cars and workbench, etc., let alone finding a spot to store the smoker.

Guess I could look into a folding one....What is the weight of a 30"?  About 50#?

Would still like to investigate installing handles as an option

You might be better off tying the ends of some webbing together and slip it underneath and lifting it that way with "handles" on each side?

That's what I was thinking too but I had seen where someone had used sheet metal screws.  Kind of figured it might not have held up

Well....I tried the folding hand truck but the steps that have to be crossed are just too tall for the small wheels on the dolly so I went ahead and added

handles to the sides.  The MES isn't really all that heavy and there are 4 screws on each handle and they have plenty of holding power. 

Much easier to move around now and I'm not rough with is so I think it should hold up fine for my purposes.

Well, I got the background information from ElginPlowboy as he did the exact same thing.  He said he went to HD and got the handles, and when I saw them I said to myself

"Those look exactly like the handles I have on my corn hole set".  I looked at them and they were exactly the same.  Since I never use the corn hole set any longer, I took the handles off

and used them and I believe the screws originally came with the handles. 

I put a washer under the screw head to take up a little space to make sure they didn't go through the internal wall.  Measured down equally on both sides so they fell between the racks in case I ever needed to put a bolt on the inside. I believe on the sides there is just insulation.  Not sure why any wiring would need to be anywhere but in the rear.

Heck, I actually like those kind of better since they are black.  Maybe someday I will go get the black ones and swap them out.

I would go with the bigger handles as it looks like the screws are a bit more hefty had have more holding power.

Yes, the ones I used are the longer 6.5" handles listed just above.
