I bet I had you all at the Jack Daniels Glaze lol.........Anything cooked or smoked with Mr. Jack Daniels #7 has gotta be good right?
I received the newsletter from Jeff Phillips with a recipe for Pork Burnt Ends . His recipe looked really interesting so I thought today (Saturday) would be a great day for smoking up some Pork Burnt Ends with my Jack Daniels Glaze. BTW "thanks" Jeff Phillips for the pork burnt ends recipe .........
Today of all days they are predicting 50% chance of rain - dang-it again! I got up at "dawn's early crack" and got started so I'm about half way there. Here's my Q-views from the start of this project. More pics to come.
I am starting with 4 lbs. of country style pork ribs - my butcher cut these beauties from the rib end of the pork loin
slathered them with yellow mustard
covered them with my rub
my coals getting ready
my water pan with 50/50 water and apple cider. added to few green onions too.
my full and very happy smoker left to right- jalapeno poppers, whole chicken, my country ribs, more jalapeno poppers wrapped in Applewood bacon. jalapeno poppers are the cook's treats!
jalapeno poppers done - time to munch!
breakfast fit for a Queen! jalapeno poppers (aka ABT's) coffee with a splash of Bailey's. Too bad you don't live closer I would invite you over!!
more pics to come.......................Happy Saturday everybody! Josie
More Q-views...............Almost there - my birds are looking real good! I didn't have any mayo so I used some of my savory homemade coleslaw dressing before I added my bird rub. Had to think outside the "bird box" again because it was too dang early to go to the store this morning so I used what I had on hand.
just took ribs off the smoker - letting them rest before I cut them into cubes.
let my ribs rest before I cut them into cubes. injected all of my cubes with melted butter and slathered all with the Jack Daniels glaze. Will continue to glaze them until they are tasty tender and delish! Here's more Q-views....this has gotta be the longest thread in history lol....
injecting with melted butter - there's a story behind that syringe. Maybe after my afternoon Bloody Mary's I'll share that story with ya - remind me because I'm an old forgetful person these days tee-hee!
all cubed up, injected and slathered with old Jack Daniels #7
adding some of my homemade pork broth - going back on the smoker for some more "smokin' love"
