What can you tell me about this smoker?

It looks to be an older new braunfels. Anybody know what model? And is it any good? Needs a bit of work but i dont mind that.
Looks like a NB Hondo or Black Diamond.  Can't remember the differences between the two.  And now that I think about it, there was a third model of NB that looked like this also.

Technically, it's still considered to be a COS.  That said, it's heavy steel and as long as it's not eaten through, it should clean up nicely.  There are some mods that you would probably want to do, such as lowering the stack and adding a baffle or deflector plates.  Some people have even converted them to reverse flow by moving the stack and adding in a reverse flow plate.

I was kind of thinking black diamond. And what is a COS? Also any chance anybody knows what years new braunfels used the square gold logos? Just curious how old it is

It could be.   IIRC, there are three similar models.  Differences between them are the inclusion or lack of the heating plate on the firebox, the type of grates inside the smoke chamber, and whether the front shelf was wood or metal.

COS = Cheap Offset Smoker.  Basically, any offset under $500 or so (back when the term COS was coined).     Not sure when they used that logo.   I'd try to talk the person down to $50 if you could.

I agree its not worth $85. Im gonna keep an eye on it for a few days to see if it sells. If not i may try for $50. Id line some sort of offset to toy with till after my wedding i can save up for a lang patio. But i want to get somthing decent to use in the meantime.

wise choice! There are dozens on craigs list here in the Boston area every week. I just found a Brinkmann Gourmet Electric for $20- that I am considering. I am a glutton for punishment, yes. (LOL)

Im sure plenty of people would have enjoyed it. Sombody bought it i believe. I havent seen it posted anymore. It just was not the smoker for me.

It's all good.   Different strokes for different folks and all that.
