Saw some good looking beef ribs at safeway yesterday. At 7.00 a lb when they had ribeyes for 9 I just couldn't do it.

OMG, at $7/ lb. no one could blame ya there ! They were 4.59/ lb. here last weekend & I personally could not do it either.... Dang ribs must have gold in em or somethin....

I bought these at Walmart they had some that were right at their out date for $1.50 a pound but I passed on them because I wasn't  sure when I was going to be smoking them and I didn't want to freeze them.

I have a WSM and was having a heck of a time with the temp it was a nice day about 75 degrees with a little breeze but I was constantly making adjustments the full 5 hours of smoking. I have never had that problem before. It will hold a steady temp for hours I don't know what happened this time?????

We get the Wal-mart ones when they are on sale. They are hit and miss as to meat content. Last ones one got were not too bad.

Another time, not so much. Still right tasty though.

Welcome to SMF, I have the same problem here they trim them as close as they can and don't leave much meat. You might the the butcher to cut you some with more meat but they will probably charge a premium price.

As a beef rib inhaler, I buy the whole shelf when the price is right. $2.49 for beef back ribs or $3.99 for decent cuts are my personal limits. @Publix, WD or wherever you get your meats... just go talk up your grocers butchers and find out when the best availability is and price is always negotiable when you buy larger pkgs. These are from yesterday...

My wife hit Wally World yesterday. Their beef back ribs can be hit or miss. Usually $2.18 @ lb. These were marked down to $1.53 @ lb, so had her pick out 4 of the best ones to do later.
