Hello all. I'm pretty much an FNG when it comes to smoking meats and veggies. We had a Little Chief smoker when I was a kid that we did all of our trout and salmon on. That is the total of my smoking experience.
In the last several years, I have become more and more motivated to change my lifestyle to a sustainable one. Before you laugh and label me part of the "knit your own sandals brigade," let me say that it is mostly for economic and stress relief benefits. I have a chunk of property out in my beloved sage desert, and am in the process of building my first cob house. I am building up materials for a greenhouse/aquaponics building, and have my vermicomposting bins just chock full of vegetable growing goodness. I get tilapia from a friend, and just can't get enough of this delicious fish, but have never had it smoked.
I am very interested in getting into smoking, not only for flavor, but for the obvious food preservation benefits.
I am an avid self-educator, and am really looking forward to picking your brains for all the juicy experience therein.

Just enjoy, if ya need anything the folks on this site are second to none & will help ya out ! Thumbs Up

Good morning and welcome to SMF from East Texas
