Greetings to all.  My name is Shawn and I'm from Northern CT. Started dabbling in smoking meat last year after my wife bought me a little brinkmann gormet charcoal smoker and grill for fathers day.

Started off dabbling with baby back ribs, and since have done brisket about 3-4 times, baby back and st louis cut ribs about 6-7X, a whole turkey, trout, chicken wings, pulled pork a few times, and really got hooked on developing the craft.

I've become pretty good at ribs, and pulled pork...still working of perfecting the brisket.  This year my wife upgraded my smoker to the Brinkmann Trailmaster Verticle Smoker (again for fathers day), and I plan on firing it up this weekend for the first time.  Can't wait.

Decided to join a smoking forum to try and get some good ideas on techniques, and possible rub and injection recipes to perfect the flavor profile of the meat I cook.  I've tried some basic ones that I have found on line in various places, but I'm sure others on this board probably have some recipes that they have and tried that are proven successful.

Look forward to interacting with everyone!  Hope everyone has a good 4th, and happy smoking!!!

Will definitely join the New England Group.  Looking forward to interacting with others who have been doing this for a lot longer than I have.  Everything I have cooked on my small smoker so far my family loves.  But as I am sure most people on this board want....I don't want my meat to just be good....want it to be exceptional.  Again, glad to be here, and looking forward to getting and sharing tips with everyone!!
