Picked up some meat to smoke for the week and got a little bit of a late start. Smoked a 4lb boston butt, whole chicken, and abt's. Did the pork and chicken as usual, but changed up the popperS from the boring cream cheese and shredded sharp cheddar. This time I added grub rub, salt lick rub, smoked paprika, and onion powder to the softened cream cheese before adding the shredded cheese. Then, after wrapping in bacon, I sprinkled moreally grub rub (brown sugar based) and salt lick rub on top. It was way better than I was hoping. Really good.

Looks DELICIOUS!!!!

What exactly are the abts?  I see their bacon wrapped something.  Looking for some new things to smoke.  I've been doing a lot of butts so far this summer, and those look like they would hit the spot.

They are a halved jalapeno scooped out and stuffed then wrapped in bacon.  You can stuff them with anything you desire.

Like yotzee said.. bacon wrapped jalapenos. Also known as Atomic Buffalo Turds. Lol. I listed above what are in mine, but also like to add pulled pork and other goodies in the cheese. And thanks!

That all sure looks good tg81, from the looks of it ya had a great day of smokin ! Thumbs Up

How long do you smoke those for?

I did them for about two hours and then in the oven on broil for a few minutes to really crisp up the bacon.

Thanks! It all turned out good! Definitely leftovers for the week.

Great looking cook texasgal! I like to always put something on that finishes quickly for a little pitmasters snack. Another good one are brats, you can usually find a little room around the main course for these snacks.

Thanks Badmoon. I'm not a big brat eater, but good idea if I have other mouths to feed!
