Hello all ! Josh here in the good ole south by the grace of god. Located in southwest Va Roanoke to be exact. I've read multiple posts and have used the site before becoming a member. Thank you to those of have helped me unknowingly. So I'm fired up with a smoke hollow propane smoker. I've smoked burgers and deer tenderloins to what I consider a perfection. I've smoked a few Boston butts to medium success and two brisket flats to less than perfect to medium perfect. I welcome tips and advice and look forward to chatting and posting throughout the forum.

Good Smoking

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  Check out Jeff’s 5 day smoking E-Course ( link below ) that will help you get started.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Good advice from Danny! Welcome to SMF. I would recommend more practice with those particular cuts of meat.
forgot to say after looking through the forums. I would spend some time going through them or searching out Pulled Pork or brisket and you should find some really good tips. I find by reading the posts of what other folks have done right, gives me ideas for the next time. I have cooked a couple of BB this summer that have come out to perfection and I followed recipes and steps I learned here. SMF is a great place!

Hey Josh, hello and welcome from East Texas. Look through the forums and post lots of information on brisket, pork butt and just about anything else you can smoke. If you don't see or can't find answers just post your questions and someone will be glad to help.

Welcome to the group. Things will get better if you had good cooks with some meats you can get the others. Sounds weird but it doesn't hurt to write things down you did so you can repeat them or not repeat them if didn't work out the way you wanted. Good luck with it and keep smoking.
