Seeing as how it's Memorial Day Weekend, in addition to honoring those who've made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, it's also the unofficial kickoff to Summer. Letting this weekend pass without some outdoor cooking of some sort would be one step away from heresy in my book. Since I have yet to replace the Missing Mini, we had decided to go ahead and buy another Smokey Joe Gold. Unfortunately I missed the hardware store and didn't really feel like driving to Target on Memorial Day weekend. So, in the spirit of the USMC, I improvised, adapted and overcame.

Took a stock pot, a steamer basket, some wire mesh gutter guard and a cooling rack for a grate and made a little hobo grill.

By the way, parental guidance is suggested. The movie's a little racy. :)

Thanks JJ! It was about as simple and basic as you can get, but it was fun. Just hadn't shared any q-view in a while so figured I'd have a little fun with it. Oh, and the beer was in my hand I believe. In keeping with the hobo theme, last night's selection was whatever I could get for the cheapest, which turned out to be Natural Light. The lady was sipping Chardonnay, also on sale, out of a plastic water bottle. Stay classy, I always say :)

The Barry White song was an accident. I was just fiddling around with imovie and was looking for a song that matched the length of the clips I had. This one was within a few seconds, and when I added it to the video I started laughing my head off. It was just too perfect.

Thanks!

By the way, the Bratwurst was Boar's Head brand. Wife went to the store and that's all they had left, so that's what we got. Flavor was great, but the texture was a little odd. Not bad, just more emulsified than I'm used to. Reminded me a lot of Weisswurst if that makes any sense.

HAHA! I do keep telling Nancy she's the next Meryl Streep.

In all seriousness Disco, your video channel on Youtube is what made me think of making some video q-view. Or Q-vids. I check all the time to see if you've done anything new. Thanks for the inspiration!

Just working with the iPhone for now, but hopefully before too long I'll have a new smoker and a new camera.

Hey Andrew, that's very cool Brother!  Nice Improv on the cooker...looks like both the food and the company were great!

Thanks Red! The food wasn't bad, but the company made that day, and every day, worthwhile.

Har, I just started kibbitzing when my buddy was hurt in a motor vehicle accident and he was housebound. I was over to visit and looked around for what he had to make dinner and made a really basic chili while he filmed with his point and shoot camera. I have had a lot of fun with it since but I would never use the word inspiring for my videos.

As for a camera, even inexpensive point and shoot cameras have decent movie settings and there is free Microsoft software for basic editing (looks like you have found some editing software for your video which is why it looks so great).

I look forward to more videos!
