That pulled pork looks great.

I am trying to make buns out of Rollers bread recipe right now.

Bet they would go good with your PP.
Thank you my friend  You know... Way down here tortillas ARE buns. LOL

Thanks Bear.  I appreciate the kind words.  This one turned out especially good.   ...Maybe because I haven't had time to Q lately and was lonesome for it.  Clearly everyone else in the housed missed my smoke as well.  Never seen 8 pounds of butt disappear so quickly!

Hope you're doing great up there. B

My what an amazing butt you have, indeed!

I'm not sure which was more appetizing - the fabulous shot of it whole or then pulled - but it all looked incredible and it's impressive!

Great job!

Cheers!!! - Leah

Yum! I think I have the same problem as you in the meat department. I go in with one intention, and sometimes change my mind, or end up with more than one days project.

This thread has inspired me to do a pork butt and some sausage this weekend.

Once again work has gotten in the way of my cooking. I just haven't had much time to do much.  But this weekend I had some free time AND with some  "Where the heck are ya?" emails from Kev and SmokeUSome  prodding me along I ran to the market for 3 or 4 chickens.  As most of you know I tend to have meat A.D.D. and once in the refrigerated section  and sometimes all bets are off on what the original plan may be. A nice display of pork butts caught my eye.  Okay SmokeUSum / Kev. I'm back on track.  Happy now?  I am!!

So I plucked this 8 pounder out of the refer. Looks nice!

More later!

Brian

Brian & Carlos,

I can remember when I first came back from Vietnam, I went shopping with Mrs Bear twice, before she told me I wasn't allowed to go with her any more, because we couldn't afford to have me running around on the loose in the Meat Department !!!!

Bear... I always tell her that IT WAS ON SALE!  Sometimes it works... Sometimes it don't...  Yer on your own friend. lol

That's a good looking butt. I'm getting a bit turned on with all this talk. Smoking 4 butts and 2 shoulders tomorrow. made my rub last night and will rub them and let em sit in the fridge overnight. I haven't tried Jeff's rub as I'm rather new to the forum. I make my own rubs and sauce. I love good BBQ. Had many discussions on chopped vs. pulled pork. I'm a big advocate of pulled.

Hope they turned out well JM.  I'm a fan of the pulled myself.

After 16 hours in the MES at 225 degrees, the internal temperature of the Butt is 197.  I'll take it out and let it set for an hour before it's pulled.
This was a 16 hour smoke for an 8 pound Boston Butt.

I'm late to this party, but great looking butt, Brian! I ended up doing a chicken for dinner while my butt was in there smoking. Going on 11 hours now with the butt and the chicken was a nice consolation prize for having to wait on the butt. Lol. Always a good day when you can throw some meat on the smoker! :grilling_smilie:

Thanks TG. Good Butt is worth the wait.  I read in your post that you tail gated the ranger game yesterday. They've  been beating on those CWS!   Don't rush the butt. They sometimes have a mind of their own.  ...and I like next day pulled pork better than first day.

Thats the way barbecue "go"!
