All these great looking new Mini's have inspired me to upgrade my Mini... I took the (worthless) thermometer I had and replaced it with a Tel-Tru, and since I am using a SJS, I drilled a couple of holes in the bottom and added ball valves. Tomorrow I plan to sic him on a chicken.

Best of both worlds.       Keep her cranking for chicken.

Let us know how the new therm works.   Mine is junk.

Those ball valves will make a world of difference. If you don't have a charcoal basket make one. I went without for a while. Once I made one it was day and night difference in control and fuel efficiency.

How high does that therm go to? I love my digitalis but I want a therm that goes above 400!

This thermometer goes up to 500. I'll post the results. Yep, I made the charcoal basket and it does make all the difference!

I'm sold. Gonna build a mini next weekend (if I get the pot shipped by then). I do have one question tho. Some if these paint jobs have some extensive stenciling on them. HOW THE HECK DO YOU DO IT??? I'm gonna do a STL Cardinals mini, so any tips or techniques for getting a killer logo on there is greatly appreciated! Thanks
