Ok, I just ordered a WSM 18.5. I thought it would be a good move from my off-set to do long smokes. I've seen tons of how to do all kinds of things and they were a very big help. I think it would be a good idea for people to show what is done AFTER the cooking is done, Like how does everyone clean the WSM ? maybe some pictures to. I can't wait to get my new WSM. any thought on clean up would be something new not just for me, but for everyone, Thanks for your time,

Here it is in 3 simple steps....

1. clean the grates

2. remove the dirty foil from the top of the water pan (which I have filled with sand)

3. clean the ash out of the base

Nothing to it.....

You are supposed to clean a WSM????????

Grates, ash, and pull the foil from the water pan or flower pot base is generally it.  Don't worry about the inside body of the smoker or the dome.

Yes. That's it in a nutshell. I have had no reason to do any heavy duty cleaning of the inside so far. I will say that I have given the inside of the dome a quick tickle with a clean rag when I saw some flakes forming that I thought might drop onto my food. But that was just once in almost 2 years now.
