Just got my new Thermapen today and will be trying it out Sunday on my birthday prime rib. Going for a bit more medium this time and I believe the Thermapen will get me there more accurately. I must say that the unit could be sold at a much lower price, if they would scale back their promo flyers and packaging just a touch. That stuff doesn't come cheap. I did feel a bit less brain damaged, however, (for paying such a ridiculous price), when I saw that by buying the flag/camo unit, they will be contributing some of the money to our wounded Marine Vets. All things considered, I'm glad I got it.:yahoo:

Nice...BUT...For the last few years they have put them on Sale, $30-Off, the last 2 weeks in January...Happy Birthday!...JJ

I've had mine for 6 months and have used it way more than I thought I would. I use it for bread, cakes, casseroles, frying and so much more. You'll love it.

I did notice that, but I thought it was for open box units. Call me weird, but I never buy any refurbs or returned items of any kind.
Thanks for the birthday wish.

I just received my digi-camo US Flag thermometer a few days ago and can't wait to try it out for the Super Bowl Brisket, Ribs, Chicken, Brats and Beer Extravaganza.  Oh, it's gonna be a good day!!!

I'm with you on buying those refrubished items...no thanks!!!

Quality costs. Sure you can get a comparable unit for less, but if you can't depend on it 100%, you're not really saving any money. I got mine on an open box sale just about a year ago and it's not failed to perform once. I use it pretty much every time I cook.
