Hi Everyone,

It's been about three months or more since I have been able to do any smoking because of the demands of my new job.

Today I am working from home and simultaneously smoking two 7lb pork butts.

I will document my progress throughout the day, I hope that you stick with me while I break my dry run!!!

Out of the fridge - rubbed and wrapped last night

On the smoker by 0800 - Smoker at 260.  I will be maintaining between 250 and 275.

Trevor is in school today so Mickey will serve as sous chef...

Hang in there with me...this isn't the most exiting thing in the world but I am extremely happy to be smoking something again!!!!

Butts will taste pretty good after a dry spell like that.

I'm there Bill. It must be a relief to get back to the smoke!

Thanks guys!  It sure feels good to be "back in the saddle".

It's pretty interesting trying to work (I work from home) and keep track of the pork butts!

Here's a shot of the TBS!

Checkin ya progress as the day goes on looks great dude.  Left over smoked buttes are great in beans and stuff too.  I look forwards to a pot of smokey pintos almost as much as the fresh off the smoker thing.

Okay folks.  We had guests and I didn't want to be rude and start posting pics of the meal before they left, so here we go.

Nothing extravagant and nothing you haven't seen before.

The bark was really dark because of the high temps I ran on the smoker but it was really good.

The pulled pork was moist and succulent!  Very good.

Our friends have two teenage boys and we have the one still at home so the vote was for my world famous pulled pork pizza!  My BDSE sauce, my smoked pulled pork, applewood smoked bacon, thin sliced red onions, thin sliced granny smith apples, and smoked gouda cheese.

Everything was awesome and we had a great time.

Mickey really wasn't a lot of help today but he did enjoy the company...

I know you won't enjoy it as much as we did but I gotta tell ya...it was really good to be smoking again and even better to share it with close friends!!!

Hoping everyone has a great weekend...

Bill

WOW     That pizza looks great.

Glad you had a good time with family and friends.   Thats what its all about.

Hey Bill,

So glad that you were able to get a day of smoking in, and I have to say that your pulled pork pizza is over the top! I'm most definitely copying that recipe (but will give you full credit ). I've got a friend with a backyard pizza oven, and I can supply the ingredients!

I hope that work is getting less crazy for you, and you will have more time to smoke, cook, and post so that we can enjoy it too!

Have a great weekend!
Clarissa

Thanks Clarissa! I will have a few weeks at home so I will be taking advantage of the time!
