Newbie here,

I just got my MF dig, electrical smoke and seasoned it.

My ? is can I use pellets in it or do I stick w/wood.

and os wood better then pellets ?

Thks for the advise .

I looked up the smoker and it seems that it is the same as the MES as far as construction.

It is designed to use wood chips. If you use chips you will need to replenish the chips every 45 min to an hour. My recommendation is to purchase the AMNPS unit from Todd.

This will give you up to 10 hours continuous smoke on one fill of pellets.

Yup, the Master Forge is a MES Clone

Sold by the Big Blue Store

Had a few customers buy them

Same issues as all the other MES Gen 2's

Check the controller temp against the actual temp on each rack

Temps are typically 20° - 30° off

Pellets burn up too quickly, unless you only put a few in at a time

Without enough oxygen, chips turn to charcoal

Small chunks seem to work OK, but have to be small enough to fit in the chip pan

Try a few different options, and see what works best for your needs

Some guys get along just fine by throwing a small amount of chips in every 30-40 minutes

Noticed already a temp difference between top and bottom rack.

Every smoker is gonna have hot spots

You need to write down the temp differentials of each rack
