Texas dad of 4 daughters (reason I havent smoked in years). They keep be extremely busy and gave my dad my smoker years ago. Buying an electric smoker tonight to get back into it. Ive never owned an electric smoker before but Ive heard enough good things. I like the ease part and the fact the outside doesnt get hot. Two of my 4 girls are 3 & 4 and dont care to see them learn the hardway about a smoker/grille or anything else hot. So far I really like what I see with this forum. Seems like a bunch of great people with a bunch of great advice. Oh and I decided on the Cajun Injector Electric Smoker XL with Glass Doors. A buddy of mine has had his right at 6 months and loves it. Cookes on it 2-3 times a week. Cant wait to smell some smoke!

Thank you! Yes 4 girls! 20,15, 4 and 3. The two older ones with my EX and the two younger ones with my wife of 9 years. She was quite a bit younger and wanted kids, so I figured why not.

OMG! Teen girls AND little girls! I hope for your sake they are good because I have only one very stubborn 3 year old daughter who is already challenging and questioning everything I say. I pray everyday that she will be a good teenager because my two sisters were wild as teens and I saw the havoc it wreaked on my dad. I'm already building a man-cave in the attic above the garage, just in case. :)

LOL, my oldest was a major handful, the 15 year old is pretty mild, 4 year old is also mild and the 3 (just turned 3 a month ago) is worse than all of them combined! She is wearing 6T clothes and weighs 46lbs. She is taller than 3/4 of the girls on our 4 year olds 5 and under soccer team. I think she will either be a linebacker in the NFL or a MMA fighter. When I say crazy, that doesnt do her justice. She is the youngest in her daycare class and is a complete head taller than the tallest kid (little boy) in there. She has a freakish strength and the child feels no pain. Very rough to say the least. But shes fun!

Welcome to the forums, Jimmy!  You've found the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks here who really enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input here, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per TulsaJeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

WOW! 6T and 46 lbs at 3?! You are the winner sir! I thought mine was a bruiser but you got me beat! Good luck with that one, though I think she is probably more than capable of taking care of herself! LOL

Well welcome to the forums. Look into an AMNPS it will simplify your smoking.

I had three girls growing up in my house that all turned 18 in the same year.

It was an experience. Enjoy, and stay out of the line of fire.

My youngest boy sounds much like your youngest except the really big part. Super strong and felt/feels no pain. My dad used to jokingly call him he who never walks.

Enjoy looking around and feel free to PM if you want.

Glad you took the plunge, Let us know (with pictures) how your first cook turns out. No girls, two boys, 3 grandsons and one granddaughter. # 2 son and I build smokers in the fall, all the rest just like to eat the results.
