I got the first round of Apple Butter going and canned yesterday.  Have more apples and another batch will come this weekend.  AND.....I just might do some canning of some Apple Pie makings. I was able to do 13 half pint jars....and 2 pint jars out of this go round.

AND...my favorite!  BOILED PEANUTS!

Thanks for looking!

love apple butter..reminds me of being a little guy sittin around the house with my Gma at night and her smearing apple butter on a piece of toast for me to have as dessert....lol. just sittin on the porch at night watchin fireflies with Gma.. good ol days.

Oh Turn....you would love them...or at least I do.  You get "green peanuts"....not dried ones for roasting.  Get a big huge pot throw them in there...with really "salty" water and boil them until the nut meats are soft.  The shells are not eaten....unless they are the mushy immature ones. After they have boiled...and are done to your tastes....they are almost as bad as potato chips.  You just keep eating until you wanna bust. Pop those shells get the p-nuts out and munch.  Soft and salty.  Great with beer too.

Sounds interesting... must be a northern thing... im with TB.. never heard of em.. but then again not BIG peanut fan so its possible I just over look if I have seen them..

I grew up in LA (Lower Alabama) and growing up...had them all the time.  Southern thing for sure.

When my wife went to Bama last year she brought some boiled peanuts back for a co worker. They were store bought and in a brine. Of course the bag opened in her suitcase, she was not happy!!!

Boy it looks good! I like boiled peanuts. Pop likes his roasted, he's from Texas.

I bet some apples would flavor up a jar of Captain Morgans mighty fine!

Looks good, comming to your house when the zombies attack!!!

I am not sure about up there....but here there are some that are in cans at the Grocery stores.  Not as good as home done...but close.
How did the mead come along?
Going to start it tonight. Had to get some bleach to clean that gallon jug....ran out before I could get it started.  Gotta have "clean" stuff before I begin.  Will show pics for sure.

Foam....love them boiled too.  Got them bagged for the freezer last nite!  AND...have some friends that say the same thing.  I am the head cook when that happens...and others have the ammo to keep zombies at bay!  LOL

Kat, apple butter I'm familiar with, but boiled peanuts...I just had to go online and order some.  Even ordered the husband some habanero ones since he loves the HOT stuff so much.  Gee, the stuff I am learning from this forum...LOL

You know the boiled peanuts wouldn't make it anywhere near the freezer with me. That batch would be history in two days between my daughter and me. Anytime we're traveling outside of FL she scans the roadside stands for "Hot Boiled P-Nuts" signs and it's a must stop when one is seen. Crack & separate the shell and suck the nut and delicious brine out. Heaven!!! Just finished the apple butter from last year. Mmmmm. 10X better than anything you'll find in the stores.

Jennifer is coming home from UNA this weekend.  The bags I have done will more than likely go back with her.  Some of her buddies love them...and will be gobbled up big time fast over there.

She cleans me out of my "canning pantry" too...and when Jessi comes in she goes and grabs stuff too.

Wow, those peanuts look good. Sadly, I believe I would have difficulty finding boiled or green peanuts here.

I am familiar with apple butter and think, from this and your prior posts, I need to raid your pantry. If you see a fat old guy in camo clothing and some of your food is missing, you know what happened.

Alesia...mine are just salt water...if they were spicy....couldn't have my Fall Fav!
