Hey, now!

I'm a rookie smoker from Calgary, Alberta.  I've been smoking meat, including my own sausage and bacon, for a year now.  I got going on my own smoking last year, when I picked up a cheap vertical charcoal water smoker for $20 on kijiji.  I really caught the bug after several successful smoking sessions, and I'm looking to move up from here.

I'm in the process of trying to plan a brick smokehouse to build in my backyard - part of this planning includes convincing my wife it's a solid plan.  I think I'm starting to win her over, so I'm hoping to start picking people's brains for some of the details of what I'm doing.

I've looked at quite a few posts on the site over the last couple of days, and I can tell there's a lot of knowledge here.  I'm happy to have found you guys!

Cheers,

Jeremy

Hello Neighbour. I just live a couple of hours down the road in Cranbrook, BC. I agree there is a lot of knowledge on this site. I have only been smoking for a few months and would have been lost without this forum.

Welcome Jeremy,I don't want to put a stick in your spokes, but go check out kijiji Ab.last week a guy posted an old international fridge that is already converted to a smoker that belonged to his grandfather in Calgary & he was asking $1.00 for it,the only reason I'am not interested is because i live 6hrs north east in Neilburg Sk.
