Hi All,

I didn't find the answer to this question but I probably didn't dig hard enough either,  LOL. Either way here goes! I plan on smoking a rack of spares on Friday using a 2-2-1 method or some variation of that. I want to have a pan of beans in the smoker UNDER the ribs for the duration of the smoke. The question is this: When I trim and square off the rack can I put the breast bone, skirt, and other trimmings in the beans raw or should I smoke them on the rack and add them after they have finished cooking?

Thanks for ALL the helpful info on this site, I spend far too much time here!

Smoke on!!

i cook them on the rack first then shread/chop the meat and add to the beans , i tried it raw in the beans and i didnt think the meat would ever get done plus cooking it first adds a great smoke flvor to the beans even if you cook them in the smoker .

Cooking along with the ribs first was my thought as well but had to ask! Thanks for the input! Man you guys are fast!
