Thought this would be a fun question to share and learn more from each other

What is your favorite smoker and why?

22" Kettle - Dang I love this thing..does it all and wouldn't trade it, but rarely used.

Offset Gas charcoal combo, made from an antique wood stove-Incredibly unique smoker/ runs gas, wood or charcoal..also serves as my cold smoker..and food warmer....rarely used.

Big Poppa UDS-Wow do I like this thing! Slow smoking over lump charcoal fire juices dripping over the coals giving incredible flavors, great manual temp control or automatic temp control with a ATC. Go from smoking to searing in seconds...fuel efficient. What's not to love? I usually just use it when I have l lots to cook.

WSM mini- Same thing as the UDS just smaller..BUT.... it's painlessly easy to start...I take wherever I'm going to cookout, so very portable. Holds temp like nobody's business and of course just a grill if you'd like.
I'm over at a house pool sitting(tough job!) ...guess what I'm cooking on??? MY FAVORITE BY FAR!!!

I'll have to think about it.I do like my UDS. But then their is the BGE and everyone must have a kettle.  My list of toys are listed in my signature,

Happy smoken.

David...let me answer for you...it's your UDS by a good margin. Jmho ))

My favorite smoker is my Totem / Big Chief because it smokes fish better than any other smoker I have tried.....  and properly smoked fish is impossible to improve upon..... and I like smoked fish better than any other meat I have tried.....  All the rest are Ho-Hum...  nothing special..  Dave

hmm... I haven't touched the UDS since the mini build.. and the propane vertical is only for "room" cause I have 4 racks. and primarily for cold or jerky smoke..

Gonna go with the MiniWSM right now.. ask me in a week it might change...

FWI, since you are going to answer for people go ahead and tell everybody which is my favorite!

I love my smoke house but am very limited to low temp smokes, jerky and sausage.
I love my Mini but am limited to hotter smaller smokes.
My real favorite is my GOSM with external fire box. I can cold smoke, like cheese and also maintain temps from 135* to over 300* so I can still low temp smoke jerky or sausage and go hot for pork and beef and go real hot for poultry. It is my most versatile smoker and usually my go to for most of what I do. The external fire box and the AMNPS gives me perfect smoke management for whatever I'm doing and I never have to open the door!
So yes I would guess the smoke house too because it is perfect for what it was designed for but the GOSM is so versatile it is really my favorite!

c farmer... this one doesn't look new by any means... but I bet coming from Dave its a beast... if it still smokes.... and produces heat if its needed... then its good... :):) A new UDS is nothing but an old barrel..that produces heat and smoke... just like the mes :)  :):)

I am hoping the uds will hold temps better and I love charcoal.

I really don't do anything 200 - 225 anymore. Whole ribeyes or such I go about 180 for more smoke penetration and then slice for a sear. Whole butts I go 280 to cut the time in half. I mostly use the Mini for butts at about 280.
