Hello everyone, Ive been lurking on the site for awhile now and finally had time at the house to sign up (couldnt do it at work for some reason). Im from Texas just a little south of Houston. I have the bass pro shop special masterbuild XL, Ive only cooked on it twice but from all the tips ive got from here as far as cooking and mods for that grill I made one of the top 10 briskekts I have ever had in my life.

Im always open to new ideas on how to cook, spices, and bbq sauces (my ole lady gets mad when I come back with more or new spices ever trip to the store. Here's to come good Q.

to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us! Would you mind updating your profile to show the other SMF members where you are located?  Ya just might meet a few neighbors!

You should sign up for Jeff's Free 5 day E-Course, and it's great!  This is chock full of great information....no matter what your experience level might be!

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff in Rule #11. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

Great place with great folks. The search engine is bustin at the seams with all kinds of useful info so be specific in your searches. The Guru's, well they are Guru's. They know their stuff and don't mind helping at all. Matter a fact I bet the go to their Guru meetings you'd see them arguing over who had the best answer for a question. Even the folks around here are happy to help. Everyone brings something to the party, seems everyone gets to leave everyday with something new too. When you have a question or a problem everyone will be there to help. But if not an emergency its probably already explained in a pictured tutorial you'll find with the search engine.

I know I am long winded but bear with me a couple more mins. I suggest you take notes, we all do. You can't know how to get were you want to be, if you don't know where ya been. If you don't write it down you may forget what you did on that last smoke, worse what you want to try different the time. Heck what if you did the perfect smoke and couldn't remember how ya did it? Sad day. One of those wise Guru's suggested taking note to me when I started. Its good advise.

Notebook, pad, journal, even a flash but keep a record. There is a whole page of help and forms of what to keep in the search engine.

I am going to have cooling water cut in to my keyboard I am typing so much.... gonna burn it up!

Looking forward to getting to know your smoke.
