hey tropez, you may need to adjust your belt up a couple of notches while you wait for your yoder but it will be worth the wait. alot of pellet heads i know started with traegers and have upgraded to yoders due to quality of craftsmanship, thicker steel and supreme digital controls, all combined produce the best heat management of all and great low and slow bbq and high temps for grilling. best to you

I used a 1/2inch x3 ft rod purchased at a big box store, for the axel.

Reuse the pin and washer on the inside of the wheel. Purchase 3 0r 4 fender washers to take up the slack

on the outside of the wheel .

Drill a 1/8th hole in one end about 1/2 inch from the end.

drill another 1/8th inch hole in the other end, then trim.

Ahh, okay, so the rod isn't there already with the factory wheels, I have to add that.

When you say trim, you mean the rod I assume, if so what tool did you use? Sorry, I'm an IT guy mostly, I can code and work computers all day but when it comes to tools and such I'm a bit unskilled.

Yes, With the factory wheels the axels are only 6 inches long.

The 1/2 inch rod I used for the axel is available at any big box store.

The rod is 3 ft long so obviously the axel does not need to be that long.

Using a hack saw, I trimmed the excess after fabricating the axel.

If you don't know what a Hack saw is Google search "Hack Saw"

I may even have a hack saw in the garage! LOL

Thanks for the tips. I think the upgrade is needed. As heavy as this thing is in combination with the grass and hills around my house are going to eat those factory wheels alive. I actually emailed Yoder asking about a middle-of-the-road upgrade between the factory wheels and the comp cart, linking to a picture of your mod (or someones similar mod). Don said there wasn't currently an option from the factory but that he pulled one through the grass many times but did have to lift up the front smaller wheels while traveling. Just FYI.
