Hey all, gonna convert an old Coronado fridge, probably 1950-55, this baby is the good old fashioned, built like a brick, well ya'll get the point. Now just wondering the best approach to this build, not too many of these oldies out there and don't wanna mess it up... That's where hopefully ya'll come in.... I'am open to any suggestions, do's, do not's, anything ya'll have to say I'am all ears and I do thank you in advance for any help, links, pointers. Just wanna do this right and I can see reading thru this forum ya'll are a wealth of knowledge. Thanks for taking the time to read this and for any help ..... Greatly appreciated & keep on SMOKIN !!!

I just finished my fridge conversion and used the smoke daddy pellet pooper and Magnus pig and am very happy with it.

Hello smokinbrewcrew.  You can go charcoal, electric, propane.  As you are still at the planning stage I would suggest reading through a bunch of threads in the fridge build section to help you with ideas.  Good luck.  Let us know if we can help.  Keep Smokin!

Any chance that old Coronado is still workin'?  If it is it'd be put to better use as a refrigerator when, (and you will), start curing bacon, Canadian bacon, buckboard bacon, dried beef, etc.  You'll very soon run out of room in the kitchen 'fridge then you'll have to start looking for a replacement for the one you gutted.  Besides, those vintage units are worth $$;

I salvaged a '50's Hotpoint, replaced the door gasket and use it for my curing.

It was kinda still working, but that was a year ago. It's just been sitting in the garage ready for the conversion to a smoker, just can't decide what avenue to pursue smoker wise. You say they are worth some bucks, but is that if they are in good working condition. I have thrown some want ads out here and there asking for any for sale and have had some good success.
