Hello all,

They have the Masterbuilt 30 model 20071011 at our local Home Depot for $269

I've trying to figure out if this is the newer model or older model

Looks like it has the replaceable element

The only thing I know about smokers is what my Dad used, a refrigerator with a hot plate so I've been pouring over this forum for weeks lol

Thanks for any help!

If the digital display is center back of the top and the exhaust vent is back right corner of the top, I think it is an older model....  Dave

I have the MES30 Model # 0910 and it shows a replacement element kit in the parts explosion. I am sure not planning on needing it though.

I am extremely happy with mine so far, don't want to tell you how many of the old Redi-smoks I wore out before it. I have been smoking for a long time with pipe pits, got the first electric in the early 80's. I like the dependability and hassle free smoking. You can't smoke for too large a group but its really not for that. They are for back decks for familys. If you are having a party break out a pipe pit because you know everyone will have to lift the lid and look at whats cooking. Electrics just ain't made for that.

But I am happy with my MES so far, except now I wish I had the 40. A 14/15/16 lbs packer just don't fit. But after reading these boards I now know that there is miget cows located up north with 5 to 7 pound briskets. They must have shetland cows up there.

There are good things and bad things about electric, but the best thing about electric, if you have a remote temperature sensor, there is no fire to tend! You can sleep at night!

Anyway, just my two cents.

BTW since mine is the 0910, and yours is a 1011 I am guessing it might be the new model. But that is just a guesstimation

Yes Dave, that is how it's made

May have to reconsider moving up to the 40", thanks Foamheart for what fits and what doesn't
