    Vacuum sealer recomendations

I don't use mine nearly as much as some here, I'd call myself a medium to medium light user. I have only ever used an Inkbird. The first one, the heat strip went out after I used about 3 (50ft) rolls of bags. Replaced under warranty. The second one is still working fine 6-7 rolls of bags...

Featured My 2nd ( really first ) Porkstrami , and I must say Glad I did it twice, Only took a little over a month to do.

Nice David! I've only done it with fattier pork, I think pork loin strami will have to be something I do in the near future.

Can I rest the pork in liquid overnight?

IMO a brisket is about the only thing I've found to get better with a super long rest. Chucks, butts, they really don't care. just my own opinon, of course.

    Survey for Daughter's Math Class

Football was ok until they made it illegal to do these 2 things. Get within 2' of the passer. Get within 2' of the receiver. (tell me I'm wrong....) It's about as much fun as watching flag football nowadays. I don't even understand the sport anymore. There's what, at least 15-20 minutes of...

Does Dirty Smoke Truly Equal Bad BBQ?

Using a stick burner - and a few other methods- will all produce a little less than optimal smoke (dirty smoke) every time you toss a fresh stick on. It never hurt anything I cooked. As mentioned above, green wood is the enemy. About the only way to completely avoid ANY dirty smoke is to...

    Reno Bound

Never been to Reno but the Circus Circus buffets in 1991 and 1992 were amazing just due to the sheer size. There was enough food in that sucker at once to last 500 people 5 years.

    Fast food pricing

Heck, I remember when you got 2 for $5 PIZZA PIZZA - I wasn't nuts about it but 20$ fed me and my homies though many a pizza and soda fueled AD&D weekend.

Alarm bells going off! No more Starbucks Ethiopean beans?

I am so glad I don't like coffee or sriracha lol. Now if there is ever a shortage of New Iberia Tabasco I may never make red beans again......

    Northern Lights!

I caught the faintest glimpse of purple here near Charlotte NC. So light that I thought my eyes were seeing what I wanted to see but I drove out a bit from the city lights and I could definitely see a faint tinge of purple. Nothing showed up on camera.

Creative (and rare) yet quick and easy - ideas?

Little late but pasta salad. Cook pasta add 1/2 ranch and 1/2 mayo to your liking (or just straight ranch, I make my own out of the Hidden Valley powder and just go heavy on mayo) chopped cooked bacon parmesan to your liking black pepper maybe a few red pepper flakes I keep a bag of frozen...

    Retractable Awnings Hail

This was about 2 miles from my house a couple of weeks ago. It hailed at the house, but not the big stuff. Parts of the town look like a tornado went through. Cars, roofs, vinyl siding - all just demolished. I was glad I was out of town that day.

    Oh, the good ol' days...

I remember getting very pissy when brisket went from .99 (not on sale) to 1.49/1.59 - it jumped pretty much overnight and then when the acoughalypse hit it went from 1.99 to over 5 bucks (both Sams and wally)

    Meat Grinder Issues

In my limited experience until a grinder gets broken in fairly well there will often be a little gray ooze extruded around where the auger sits in the plate/die. It happened with my Kitchen Aide attachment, the first dedicated grinder I ever bought, and with my current grinder. Metal...

We have a something you couldn't live without in the kitchen thread, so what is something worthless in your kitchen?

I own a coffee maker. I would rather drink mudpuddle water than coffee. I forgot I had one until my kitchen cabinets got ripped out. I think my daughter used it maybe twice, then decided she didn't like coffee..... I'm tossing it lol. 2nd thing - my insta pot. I think it makes meat...

What Is Something You could Not Live Without In The Kitchen?

I'm going to say my grinder. If it broke tomorrow one, I'd have another ordered within 5 minutes. I'd rather have my grinder than my stove lol.

    Pepperoni Mozzarella sourdough loaf .

I use it too lol. Every since my KA crapped out. Buy the loaves (3 pack) and break them down. Cheaper.
